Give it a Go Festival returns to Hampstead Heath on 17 July

Try out new sports and other fun activities at the Give it a Go Festival on 17 July 2022.

After a two-year break, Hampstead Heath’s Give it a Go Festival is back – taking place on Sunday 17 July, from 1pm to 4.30pm at Parliament Hill.

Organised by the City of London Corporation, this free health and wellbeing event is an opportunity for children, young people and adults to try out a new sport or activity or have a health check.

There will also be music on the bandstand from Andalus (a Gypsy Kings tribute band), food stalls and other activities. The event is aimed at all age groups and young people can collect a stamp for each activity they try, with the opportunity to win a medal. Partner organisations, such as the NHS and Camden Council, will be on hand with advice and information for visitors on a range of topics.

All Dogs Matter are hosting a charity dog show from 11am until 4pm so your four-legged friend can join in too. Sports that will be on offer include: croquet, fencing, fishing, fitness classes, football, ping pong, rugby, tennis and much more.

Chair of the Hampstead Heath Management Committee, William Upton, said: “I’m delighted to see this popular event return after two years. It’s a great opportunity to try out a new sport on the Heath and perhaps find a new hobby. The Heath is such an important place for physical and mental wellbeing and Give it a Go will showcase some of the many activities on offer here and in the local community.”

The Mayor of Camden, Councillor Nasim Ali OBE, said:  “I’m so pleased to see Give it a Go returning to Parliament Hill Fields. There is truly something for everyone at this free community event, which was paused during the pandemic but is now making a hugely welcome return – with sports, live music, health and wellbeing and fun activities for all ages, including a dog show. A big thank you to everyone involved in organising the events, activities and information stalls for Give it a Go, including our own Sport and Physical Activities Team and the City of London Corporation. I’d like to encourage as many local residents as possible to visit on the day.”
