Fresh Youth Academy's outdoor adventure in the New Forest - Camden Rise

Teenage girls aged 13 to 16 enjoyed an outdoor adventure in the New Forest, Hampshire, thanks to Camden Council's Fresh Youth Academy.

They took part in activities ranging from orienteering, bushcraft and a night walk to canoeing, zip wire, obstacle course and archery during the residential weekend at Avon Tyrrell Outdoor Education Centre from 12 to 14 May.

The aim was for the young people to experience new challenges and build team work skills to help raise their self-esteem and confidence. This was also an opportunity for the girls and young women to come together, away from home, and talk about their lives, ideas, experiences and hopes for the future with their peers and youth workers.

The young people who joined the trip are also students at Acland Burghley School, Camden School for Girls and Parliament Hill School.
