Could you be Camden's next Youth MP?

Camden Youth Shout Out 2023, hosted by Camden's current Youth MPs and Deputy Youth MPs.

Young people across Camden go to the polls from 15 to 26 April 2024 to elect a new Camden Youth MP and two Deputy Youth MPs. Could you be Camden's next Youth MP?

Young people aged 13 to 19 who wish to stand as candidates can apply before 5pm on Sunday, 3 March (deadline extended by one week) by filling in the form in this candidates pack.

Camden's Youth MP and two Deputy Youth MPs will have a two-year term and be the voice for Camden young people, putting forward their views at a local level but also at a regional and national level through the UK Youth Parliament, run by the British Youth Council.

Your newly-elected Youth MP and Deputy Youth MPs will:

  • lead Camden Youth Council
  • attend regional and national events
  • attend the UKYP national meeting to decide on future campaigns
  • attend the UKYP event at the House of Commons to debate and vote on national campaigns
  • meet senior Council officers, councillors and other local decision-makers
  • visit schools and youth clubs
  • oversee the progress of the issues outlined by young people at the Camden Shout Out
  • represent the views of local young people at a range of council and community meetings.

The Camden Youth MP Election 2024 is organised by staff in Camden’s Integrated Youth Support Service and local young people. Find out more here
