Summer in Camden 2025 - free and low-cost activities for children and young people - Camden Rise

There are so many free and low-cost activities for children and young people of all ages in Camden this summer. Check them out here.

• Sports and physical activities. Includes free Girls Get Moving Mondays sessions for ages 8 to 14 on Mondays 4, 11 and 18 August and Girls Get Moving Week from 26 to 29 August (only £3.75 per day, per child); Arsenal in the Community free football sessions at Cantelowes Gardens for ages 8 to 14 on Tuesdays to Fridays, from 29 July to 22 August, 10am to 3pm; Active Wednesday multi-sports sessions for ages 11 to 17 on 23 and 30 July, 6 and 13 August; Kids Swim for a Quid with Better Leisure; Multi-Sports and Mult-Gymnastics Holiday Schemes. • Camden Youth FC Girls Football. Inspired by the Lionesses? Interested in playing for a team? Girls who will be in Years 2 to 12 in September 2025 are invited to attend open training and trial sessions in July and August at Talacre Sports Centre, Dalby Street, NW5 3AF, as we prepare for the upcoming 2025/26 season. • Camden Summer University. Runs from 24 July to 22 August - stay safe, have fun, learn something new, make new friends and have something to show when applying for university, apprenticeships or work. Free to enrol if you're 13 to 19 and either live in Camden, go to a local state school or attend a council-run youth centre. Find out more and book places
• Holiday Activities and Food Programme. Runs from 23 July to 29 August; open for children and young people aged 5 to 16 who live in Camden and are eligible for benefits-related free school meals. Find out more and book places
• Holiday play schemes and Play Day. Coram's Fields, in Bloomsbury, will be celebrating National Play Day from 12noon to 4pm on Wednesday 6 August. Come along to join in their free, inclusive celebration of play - from live music and roaming performers to inflatables, creative workshops, sensory zones, animal encounters and sports challenges. • Summer Play Days. Free family play days in the churchyard of St Giles-in-the-Fields. Children must be accompanied by an adult. They take place on Wednesdays, from 30 July to 20 August, 11am to 4pm (run by Make-Do Play) and Thursday 21 August and Friday 22 August, 11am to 4pm (run by Assemble Play) at St Giles-in-the-Fields churchyard, 60 St Giles High Street, WC2H 8LG. • Free Pump Track sessions. Bring your mountain bike, BMX, balance bike or scooter or skateboard to free pump track sessions on Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 August, 10am to 4pm at Harrington Square Gardens (south east corner), Camden NW1. Open to all ages and skill levels. A limited number of bikes and helmets will be available to borrow. No booking needed. Download a flyer
• Youth activities. Check out youth summer programmes - including trips, sports and fitness, games, creative activities, cooking sessions and more - at youth centres near you
• Creative Health Camden Youth Hub Summer Sessions. Taking place in collaboration with Kentish Town Civic Action Lab on Thursday afternoons at 2 Prince of Wales Road, NW5 3LQ on Thursdays 31 July and 7, 14, 21 and 28 August, from 3pm to 6pm.. All 12 to 18-year-olds welcome. Please check out the summer 2025 programme - art materials and workshops, books, graphic novels, board games, free refreshments; a calm place to chill and chat
• CHC Youth Hub. They will also be running their usual Friday afternoon Youth Hub at The Gym, Kentish Town Health Centre, 2 Bartholomew Road, NW5 2BX over the summer break. Visit their chilled, arty, wellbeing space, which is a quiet social space for 12 to 18-year-olds. Please fill in the CHC Youth Hub form on the back of their flyer and join them. • British Library Family Activities Programme. Join the British Library for family fun - from creative family festivals to artist-led workshops, regular under 5s sessions and relaxed openings, there's so much for your family or community group to enjoy together - find out more on their website
