Do the right thing with your waste

This is the improved Camden website. Find out what's new.

What to do with your waste

It’s your responsibility to dispose of your recycling and rubbish correctly.

Check what goes in bins and the recycling A-Z of items

It is illegal to dump your waste on the street. This includes recycling and rubbish bags that are put out at the wrong time or in the wrong place.

Check your collection day or time

Order a bin, box or bag

Do you have something broken at home? Consider getting it repaired

Getting rid of large items

You should arrange a collection if you want to throw away a large item, such as furniture, or difficult to handle electrical items, such as a fridge.

Large item (bulky waste) collections

If you live on an estate, you may have a bulky waste store – speak to your caretaker.

Items that don’t fit in your bin can also be taken to Regis Road Reuse and Recycling Centre.

Action on fly-tipping and littering

Fly-tipping can be anything dumped on the street, from a bag of rubbish to furniture, while littering includes dropping anything from crisp packets to cigarette butts – it’s illegal and you could be fined.

If caught fly-tipping, you could receive a £400 on-the-spot fine, or £100 for littering. This is called a Fixed Penalty Notice (FPN).

You can report fly-tips (dumped rubbish), litter or another street cleaning issues in Camden using the Love Clean Streets app

What if I get a FPN?

Payment is required within 14 calendar days of the date of the FPN, and must be made to Kingdom.
