Protest advice for young people

While Camden Rise and the Council understand the desire to protest, you should recognise that gatherings of more than six are currently illegal under COVID-19 regulations.

If you do decide to join a public protest or demonstration, please keep yourself and others safe and follow this advice below.

  • Try to observe social distancing
  • Bring hand sanitiser
  • Wear a face mask (bring a spare too if you can)
  • Do not go on any protests if you have symptoms of COVID-19
  • Go with friends and stay together
  • Wear comfortable clothes and shoes
  • Take water, snacks and personal identification (e.g. college or university security pass) with you
  • Write some emergency contact details on your arm and / or keep them in your wallet or purse
  • Leave if you feel unsafe or violence happens.

For further advice and support, call Camden's Youth Helpline on 020 7974 6200.

This helpline is open for young people aged 13 to 19 today (5 June) until 5pm, this weekend (6 to 7 June) and next week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, from 2 to 5pm.
