Could you be Camden's next Youth MP?

We’re looking for candidates to stand in the next Youth MP Elections. Camden’s Youth MP and two Deputy Youth MPs are the voice for the borough’s young people and play a key role in important decision-making and campaigning on key issues, ranging from youth safety to climate change.

Young people across Camden go to the polls in March to decide who will represent them for the next two years – could it be you?

Asma Maloumi, one of Camden’s current Deputy Youth MPs, said:

“Being a Deputy Youth MP has been an experience like no other. Working with local change-makers, meeting other young people with the same drive as me and being able to represent young people’s voices on such a public scale has pushed me past comfort zones and allowed my passion for rising up and speaking out to flourish.

“It has matured me, providing me with contacts and networks that will guide me into the professional world, now and in the future. Being a Youth MP is more than about the title, it’s about the endless opportunities created for you along the way, and the young people you represent.”

To run for election, you need to be 13 to 19 and attend a Camden school or youth centre, or live in the borough. If you’re interested please email rashid.ali@camden.gov.uk before 20 January.

Voting in the Camden Youth MP Election will take place in schools and youth centres from 16 to 27 March.
