Camden STEAM workplace visit opportunities

Young people join SNK Studios and Red Apple Creative for a workplace visit as part of Camden's STEAM Pledge initiative.

Camden STEAM workplace visits give local young people an insight into the world of the growing creative, tech, digital and scientific sector in the borough.

SNK Studios and Red Apple Creative have hosted their first successful STEAM workplace visit, giving young people aged 16 to 18 the opportunity to come into their studios to take part in a workshop and learn more about working in the creative industries.

The valuable industry experience is part of the Camden STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths) initiative to give local young people the best skills and opportunities so they can learn from and then perhaps work in the borough’s thriving creative, digital and scientific economy.

STEAM encourages a greater fusion in creative, digital and scientific education and aims to tackle underrepresentation, providing all Camden young people with access to the opportunities available locally.

Director and co-founder of SNK studios, Seb Juviler, was delighted at seeing months of planning turn into a successful event for local students. Seb said: “We started this journey 10 months ago. For me, a real focus this year has been for our business to give back to the local community, helping to shape the futures of young people. To see it grow from an idea to helping real people get real industry experience has been an absolute joy for our company.”
