'Bridging the Gap' online magazine - Anya Nedungadi

My name is Anya Nedungadi, and I am Camden’s Deputy Youth MP. I founded the online magazine, ‘Bridging the Gap,’ to encourage students from different backgrounds in Camden to express their views, ideas and feelings and to hopefully make connections with each other.

Our borough is a diverse place, with students from different racial, social, political and economic backgrounds. These differences often influence where we go to school and who we meet.

I created this communal space of creativity so that young people can share our opinions and explore our ideas across social borders - especially, the border between state schools and private / independent schools - so the contributors come from different parts of Camden and a range of backgrounds. Articles published here include:

  • Personal stories. These stories are what the magazine is about. They are pieces about the influences in our lives, our families, our backgrounds, our passions…
  • Topical articlesThese articles showcase individuals’ unique opinions on current affairs
  • PoemsThese are expressions of opinion, of emotion, and are beautifully written pieces of art that give you an insight into our personalities.

I hope that Bridging the Gap helps you to look again at your own perspectives and to absorb the thoughts and opinions of young people you might otherwise never have met. You can also submit your own article or poem via the website here.
